Our Story

You’re probably wondering what's a bald, middle-aged guy doing starting a beauty brand. Fair question. I never planned on this.

I spent years as a U.S. diplomat in war zones, but my hardest mission was at home. My wife, Jenny, developed an autoimmune condition that left her skin highly sensitive and her hair thinning. Products labeled “gentle” weren’t gentle enough, and nothing felt right for what she was going through.

So I turned to my roots. Growing up in Egypt, I watched my mother and grandmother care for their hair with natural oils and botanicals passed down through generations. I discovered Egyptian black cumin seed oil, known as Habbat Al-Barakah in Arabic, or the “Seed of Blessing," and learned that the blessing isn’t that it cures everything, but that it supports many needs gently, reliably, and with enduring care. I paired it with botanicals cultivated in Egypt’s fertile Nile Delta: jute for hydration, hibiscus for strength, and blue lotus for balance.

The result was gentle enough for Jenny’s sensitive skin, yet effective enough to restore softness, strength, and confidence. When she smiled in the mirror again, I knew this was something worth sharing.

That’s how Nylure was born. A beauty brand created for sensitive and reactive hair, inspired by Egyptian heritage, shaped by science, and grounded in love and resilience.

I invite you to be part of this journey. Together, let’s prove that beauty doesn’t submit. Beauty fights back.
