Our Story
You’re probably wondering: what’s a bald, middle-aged guy doing starting a beauty brand? Fair question. I never planned on this.
I was a U.S. diplomat serving in war zones, but the hardest mission I faced was at home. My wife, Jenny, lost her confidence after being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. Her skin became hypersensitive. Her hair thinned. Nothing we tried was gentle enough—or effective enough—for what she was going through.
That’s when I turned to my Egyptian roots. I remembered my mother and grandmother massaging their scalps with natural botanicals, recipes passed down for generations. I rediscovered Egyptian black seed oil—Habbat Al-Barakah in Arabic, or the “Seed of Blessing”—treasured since the time of the Pharaohs for its healing and nourishing power. I blended it with jute to hydrate, hibiscus to strengthen, and blue lotus to soothe.
The result was a formula rooted in heritage and validated by science, gentle enough for Jenny’s skin yet strong enough to help her hair fight back. When she smiled in the mirror again, I knew we had something worth sharing.
That’s how Nylure was born: a beauty brand for sensitive skin and autoimmune-prone hair, born of love, resilience, and Egyptian tradition.
I invite you to be part of this journey. Together, let’s prove that beauty doesn’t submit. Beauty fights back.
With resilience, George
